Well..... At least a lot of them seem to love to come and see us. Others not so much. Occasionally they put on the brakes as they get to the front door. At any rate, we do our best to help them feel at home.
We pride ourselves on making your and your pet's visit to our clinic as comfortable as we can.
The team at our veterinary clinic in Melrose is here to put you and your pet at ease as we provide the necessary care to ensure that your pet leads a normal, healthy life. We believe that a good head start is the best way to give your pet a long and healthy life. That's why we encourage our clients to bring their animals to as soon after birth as possible to keep their shots up to date, and to help them grow accustomed to seeing us! After all, the socialization of your pet is vital to helping them to adapt to new people quickly!
I received my veterinary degree from the University of Minnesota in 1975 and have been practicing in the Melrose area since 1977. The work was mainly with dairy cattle to start with but has gradually transitioned to the extent that it has been mainly small animals for the past several years and is now limited to only small animal work. When I was doing large animal work I generally had one of my Water Spaniels riding shotgun with me and now have my Golden Retriever, Odin, riding with me to and from the office.
When not working with the animals or playing with my grandchildren, I like to spend my time working with plants, enjoying various outdoor recreation activities, or working on a variety of little woodworking projects etc.
I joined the Melrose Veterianry Clinic team in March 2006. I attended WWTC of LaCrosse-Black River Falls campus for Supervisory Management and Penn Foster College for Veterinary Technician. I have lived in the rural part of Melrose since 1996. I enjoy everything outdoors and being with my children. I have a Labrador Retriever, five cats and a parakeet.
It’s important to me that we take the extra step to make you and your pet feel welcome and cared for.
I received my Veterinary Assistant degree through Penn Foster College. I joined the Melrose Veterinary Clinic team in August 2009.
Melrose has always been home. I grew up on and still live on a farm here. Animals have always been a big part of my life. Taking care of them and watching them grow up has been a natural part of living and brings me great happiness. I will be the first to admit that I am truly a cat person at heart though.
For me, there is no greater reward than the unconditional love you receive from your pets.
